Caparison Design

Design

"Seeking for sounds leads to creating the great shapes”, this is the basic concept of Caparison Design Guitars. Design, of course, means not only drawings but also the careful planning of wood selection, finishes, choice of pickups, and all other ancillary components. The most important features of our guitars to us are their stability, tone, playability and reliability that they offer. In addition to this, the hand applied colours and unique fingerboard inlays of our guitars are also very important elements in our design in order to inspire and enhance the exclusive qualities of our instruments.

Production

All of our guitars are made and assembled on the same production line, whether they are our artists own endorsement instruments or models from our regular series. To put it simply, all of our guitars go through the same exacting and rigorous quality processes.

After construction, the guitars are strictly inspected and set up by our expert designers and craftsmen before being shipped out of our factory in Nagoya.

Wiring

Since 2006 all our models were upgraded to have the same quality of hand wiring as our endorsees’ specification guitars. In addition, top quality CTS pots are now used as standard on all our instruments (except pots with switches).

*We only use Lead-free solder in compliance with European RoHS standards.

Fingerboard Radius

The fingerboard radius on Caparison guitars is a conical 350mm at the nut to a flatter 400mm at the end section of the fingerboard. This helps for a smoother left-hand movement and also encourages as low an action as possible for ease of play. (Dellinger-Bass has a different fingerboard radius).

Neck Profile with Devil’s Tail Headstock

The standard Caparison neck profile has a soft, shallow D shape which flattens off towards the ‘Devil’s Tail’ headstock end of the neck for precise and comfortable playing.

Pickups

"Caparison Guitars own pickup which is a feature of all Caparison Regular Series Guitars". Caparison design pickups are one of the principal components that are responsible for creating the distinctive tones of our electric guitars. Each pickup is tested repeatedly in conjunction with different amplifiers, environments and recording setups to develop a specific character for each model (Except those models supplied with EMG pickups).

Nut Material

A Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut (artificial ivory) is now fitted as standard on all Caparison models.
